In 2013, California produced $46.6 billion in crops and 50% of all fruits, vegetables, and dairy in the region. The agriculture industry supplies our jobs, ensures our food security, and boosts our local economy. Simply put, it is a booming trade and will continue to be a top economic issue in the state. As a government official, it is my role to employ sound support for this industry. We need to protect our farmers, ranchers, and workers to make certain they can continue to function in state. By reducing restrictions, taxes, and government hindrance we will keep our farmers in California instead of losing them to neighbors or foreign markets. I will operate with a strict mindset and alleviate burdens placed on California's agriculture industry so we can advance and enjoy a thriving local economy and continued food supply.
